More sad news, Ben Ali, the founder for eponymous Ben's Chili Bowl (which celebrated its 50th anniversary last year) passed away last night in his sleep. He was 82.
There will be a memorial service for him on October 16th at 12 noon at the Lincoln Theater (next to Ben's) at 1215 U Street, NW. I'll be out of town for myb-day weekend, otherwise, I'd be there!
